In today’s new home market, there are many production builders who thrive on building hundreds of homes each year and do a good job at it. There are also many smaller builders who are vital to the industry and build each new home with pride.

Meet the Price family who own and operate St. Clair Homes. Ken Price, who has worked in residential home building for more than 35 years, believes there is nothing like owning a brand new home built just for you. Ken’s commitment to his customers is that every home should be built with the highest quality products and workmanship possible – no matter the price point. Ken remarked, “Every St. Clair Homes house is built as if I was going to live there.” Ken backs this up by being on the job every single day to supervise construction – he is the project manager. Ken built the family-owned and operated business, St. Clair Homes, on his reputation of honesty, fairness and always putting the customer first.

His wife, Meg, joined the company in 2005 after a 35-year career at VCU. To better serve the needs of customers, she recently became a licensed Realtor with Long & Foster’s Beran Team. Meg works with customers before, during and after the building process. “From the day we break ground until the moment a customer receives their keys, we work to make sure their home is just the way they want it. And we are there every step of the building process,” said Meg.

The Price’s daughter, Kenna Price Rash, brings extensive new homes sales experience to St. Clair Homes. Kenna assists customers with the purchase and fi nancing of their new home. Kenna explained, “We work with our customers to assist them with one of the biggest fi nancial decisions they will make. It is with this in mind, that we take a complicated process and make it as simple and painless as possible.”

“We want happy customers,” concluded Kenna. And according to Rodney Coltes, a St. Clair homeowner in Colony Pointe, they do just that. “The experience of building our home with St. Clair Homes is one that we will never forget. If we had to do it over again, we would not change a thing. Working with Ken, Meg and Kenna was an awesome experience,” he said.

The home featured on the cover, William’s Cottage, is named for the St. Clair team’s newest addition — the Price’s grandson, one-year-old Will Rash. Both Will and William’s Cottage made their debut in 2011, and both were delivered ahead of schedule.
